    From Aunt Suelan:
Dear Frubie and Joel. Please accept my most sincere condolences on the death of your dear father, Delroy, a very special person. Sean and Matthew remember their “Uncle Del” with much love. They hope you will let them share with you both the mutual experience of losing a beloved father, while having the privilege of being with him to the end.

Delroy epitomised many of the qualities we most admire–a kind, calm, efficient, unassuming person who was always ready to help those in need. He never seemed to maximise the problems of life, trivial or great, into mountains. His philosophy of life was, as he often said, “Take each day as it comes and always try to do your best.” He will be sadly missed. Viv and he were blessed with a long, happy married life and a contented, united family life… And how lucky for those of us who participated in this circle–particularly when Del was wearing his Chef’s hat! My entire family and I send you both lots and lots of love and prayers at this sad time and pray that God’s blessings will always surround and comfort you. Dear Del rest in peace.

    Dear Joel and Frubie,

Again my wife Lea and I extend our deepest sympathies during this second heartbreaking period of your lives.

Your dad and I have had numerous long interesting telephone conversations over the years. We would speak about basically every topic imaginable, especially details of the family ties and history of which he was a font of information. I will miss our conversations, except politics both of us avoided.

Delroy was a live and let live person with an infectiously calm personality. It was a joke between us that we seem to meet at funerals. He will be missed by everyone he has touched.

I will miss you Delroy and continue to include you in my nightly prayers.

    ‘Till we meet again.

    Eddie Ying

Dear Joel and Delroy Jr. I just wanted to share with you my memories of your respected father .
I was fortunate to know your parents as they visited you in your house in Naples. Mr. Ying loved family cooking, and even more, he enjoyed seeing others satisfied and nourished by it. One day at one family dinner he silently pointed out which dishes were the most nutritious and encouraged me to serve myself plentiful. That day I realized something sweet and profound: “Thank Mr. Delroy for making me feel like l belonged to Ying’s family. It was as though you and your wife knew my emotional need.” Rest in peace Mr.Delroy Ying.
Dear Joel and Delroy Jr. my love and prayers at this sad time.
    Hugs, Leonor
